EDITOR'S NOTE Dear readers, For our debut issue in January 2023, our magazine has carefully adhered to its quarterly schedule, publishing articles by eminent researchers as shown by the earlier issues that readers— academic or not—can access. It will only take a little while to index the Graphique Magazine. We are aware that most databases require one or two years of publication in order to index our magazine. We are closely adhering to the steps that are necessary and crucial to the indexing process. No matter how well-written the papers are that are published, examined, and discussed at international conferences, we pay close attention to the formal concerns when working toward our goal of indexing Graphique Magazine. As a result, we will continue to follow the appropriate procedures with the same rigor, which includes maintaining the accuracy of information regarding the requirements for journal publication.

Graphique Magazine is more than just another publication in this industry; it is a unique medium that allows the arts and cultures to influence its content and connect with a large global readership. It is a surprise and thrilling outcome for a journal that demonstrates its ability to become more scholarly without sacrificing the caliber of its graphic design, which on first glance appears to be straightforward. However, one thing is sure: without all the technological advances that we have available, it would not be possible. Besides, considering all the difficulties of the analog era, which I know well, it is perfect to have all this software and social media available for spreading arts and culture worldwide!

Additionally, the art of publishing, especially in the academic field, must commit to knowledge by disseminating and contributing to the democratization process and supporting unrestricted access to science. Graphique Magazine supports this cause and remains very distant from the definition of “predatory journals.” On the contrary, there is no cost associated with publishing in Graphique Magazine. There are no additional publication fees or article processing costs. The authors retain full ownership of the copyright and publishing rights without any transfer of ownership to Graphique Magazine. Reputable academics who are willing to support this project include our authors and committee members at Graphic, Art & Culture International Magazine.

P hoto manipulation didn’t

begin with the invention of photo editing software. Photographers, editors, and retouchers have been cutting up, combining, and creating new work out of existing assets for over a century. Photo manipulation can be used for artistic pursuits such as surrealistic photomontage or the creation of alien worlds on the covers of sci-fi novels.

crafting new images with photo manipulation. Editing should maintain the integrity of the photographic images’ content and context. Do not manipulate images or add or alter sound in any way that can mislead viewers or misrepresent subjects. Photo manipulation is for artistic and aesthetic expression, not deception. With that in mind, this is how to put whales in the sky, airplanes in the ocean, and far-off planets in the sky above Earth.

Digital art, surreal scenes, and realism. Photographic art can break all laws of physics and reality, but it still has to obey the rules of photography. “The picture you’re creating should be as realistic as possible,” says an expert. Realism here doesn’t mean creating scenes that can be found in real life. Photomontage and digital art can still feature sci-fi and fantasy elements. However, the minotaurs, mermaids, and surreal scenes you create still need to have realistic perspective, lightings, shadows, and color.

Making sure colors match is your next step to bring images together. Matching shadows, and their range of colors, is important. An ordinary viewer might not be able to articulate why shadows look wrong, but they will notice it. Make sure shadows blend into the background. Brightness, contrast, shadows, highlights — try to make it blend.” Photo courtesy: Louise Fernando Merin

Perspective is the first thing you’ll want to line up when combining photos. While it’s possible to alter lighting and colors in Photoshop, altering perspective is much more difficult. Get tips on how to introduce new objects to an image or subtract existing ones.

make your own dreamlike images. Creating new images out of existing photos is difficult, but rewarding. The best way to get good at it is to do it. You’ll build an eye for realism, perspective, lighting, and colors as you go along.

Achieving that realism starts with combining complementary something to do photos. The images you’re working with should have

with each other when it comes to factors like color and light.

The impact of Photo Manipulation in the modern age To create an artistic work, photo manipulation mixes photography and computer software. Photo manipulation has long been a part of the art world; in the past, photographers would use angles and props to modify perspective and change the environment to make their photos. The use of photo manipulation has altered how we view the world. It has given us a wealth of knowledge and beauty. Now, we have a new perspective on photography. photo manipulation improves The impossible is possible. It enables us to take control of our photos and make any changes we want. — Louise Fernando Merin, Published January 2023
