3rd Sunday of Luke Holy Epistle: St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 6:16-18; 7:1 Holy Gospel: Luke 7:11-16
Resurrectional Apolytikion You descended from on high, O compassionate One, and condescended to be buried for three days, so that from the passions You might set us free. Our life and resurrection, O Lord, glory be to You.
For the Apostle O holy Apostle James, make intercession to our merciful God, that He grant our souls forgiveness of offenses.
HYMN OF ST. NECTARIOS The offspring of Selyvria and the guardian of Aegina, the true friend of virtue who appeared in the last years. O Nectarios, we faithful honor you as a Godly servant of Christ. For you pour out healings of every kind for those who piously cry out, glory to Christ Who has glorified you, glory to Him Who has made you wondrous, glory to Him Who works healings for all through you.
Kontakion O Protection of Christians that never falls, intercession with the Creator that never fails, we sinners beg you, do not ignore the voices of our prayers. O good Lady, we implore you, quickly come unto our aid, when we cry out to you with faith. Hurry to intercession, and hasten to supplication, O Theotokos who protect now and ever those who honor you.
The reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 6:16-18; 7:1 Brethren, you are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.
The Gospel According to Luke 7:11-16 At that time, Jesus went to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him. As he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." And he came and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." And the dead man sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. Fear seized them all; and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and "God has visited his people!"

St. Nectarios Prayer List We would like to announce the creation of the "St. Nectarios Prayer Group". With the intensity of the Covid19 pandemic, witnessing many loved ones becoming ill, and other situations that have arisen, we have the great opportunity to strengthen our faith in God with the power of prayer. We will be collecting names of loved ones, both Orthodox and Non-Orthodox, to pray for them and ask our Lord for His healing grace to be upon those with whatever affliction they might have. Please submit names to
[email protected] and we will include them in our weekly bulletin and email to the community. Names will go onto the prayer list for that week; if submitting a name of someone with long-term illness, please specify that name as recurring so that it will remain on the list from week to week. First names only as that is the customary way of praying for loved ones.
