Mass Book Open for 2016 The 2016 Mass Book is open. Please follow these protocols when arranging Mass inten ons: (1) Arrange the Masses in person in the office during office hours. The Masses cannot be arranged over the telephone. Make sure you have the correct spellings of names. Be pa ent; it takes me for the secretary to properly record all info. Don’t leave the office un l the process is complete. (2) Reserve now Masses on the dates of your loved ones’ birthdays and anniversaries in 2016. Weekday Masses have only one inten on per Mass; once someone arranges an inten on we can not honor last minute requests for addi onal inten ons at the same Mass. (3) Don’t demand services that are not customary for a church to offer, such as asking the secretary to mail your Mass cards.

Proper Recep on of Holy Communion The recep on of Holy Communion is an incredibly sacred moment. Please observe the ritual of the recep on of Holy Communion correctly and reverently: (1) Do not socialize with or wave to other congregants on the way to or from receiving Holy Communion. (2) Bow before approaching the minister with the host or chalice. This moment reminds one how sacred is the substance that one is about to receive. (3) All communicants should gaze upon the host or chalice and clearly and audibly say “Amen—” a statement that they believe that they are receiving the Body and Blood of Christ. (4) When receiving in the hand, place the right hand under the le to form a throne. Take one small step to the side and take the host out of your le hand with your right hand and place the host on your tongue. Be sure that the minister of Holy Communion can see you receive. Bless yourself when you walk away. Always be conscious of the great gi that is in your hands.
