ODOSDESIGN CREATES LINE FOR SANCAL Winding lines are predominant in the delicate design of Line. Ana Segovia, María Mengual and Luis Calabuig created this for Sancal to give the stackable chair a round solution: Line. This chair is suitable for the hotel sector and public spaces as well as for the home.

NOSSO, SWEET MELODY As Tom Jobim used to sing “O Nosso amor va ser assim, eu prá voce, vove prá mim”. Arm and chair join together to give Nosso voice to perform a melody interpreted by an armchair and two sofas. If you find peace in the soft caress of a Bossa Nova, Nosso is the perfect temptation.

MIDORI, NICE “BLUES” Inspired by one of the main characters of the novel “Tokio Blues” by Haruki Murakami, the stool Midori is never temporary. It doesn’t belong anywhere. Además de una amplia gama de butacas, sofás y modulares – una línea de productos habituales en todos los catálogos de la firma – Sancal lanza una pequeña colección de sillas que dará mucho que hablar.

Apart from a wide range of armchairs, sofas and other modules – an habitual line of products in all of the company’s catalogues – Sancal launches a small collection of chairs that everyone will be talking about!

EXHIBITION_ by CETEM Así se llama la exposición que ha organizado el Centro tecnológico del mueble de Murcia (CETEM), con motivo de la celebración de su decimoquinto aniversario. Una retrospectiva sobre los premios del Concurso Internacional de Diseño Industrial del Mueble que organiza anualmente en colaboración con el Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia, Cajamurcia, la Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo, el Ayuntamiento de Yecla y la Feria del Mueble Yecla. La butaca Letargo de Miguel Milá y el paragüero de Antonio Saturnino para Sancal, ambos primeros premios del Concurso, se pueden ver en la exposición instalada en la Casa Municipal de Cultura de Yecla hasta el 23 de Julio. Una vez finalizada la exposición en la Casa Municipal de Cultura, ésta se trasladará a las instalaciones de CETEM, donde permanecerá abierta al público hasta el 31 de diciembre. FIND 15 YEARS OF DESIGN This is the name of the exhibition organized by the furniture technological centre (CETEM), in celebration of its fifteenth anniversary. A retrospective of the awards of the International Industrial Design Furniture Contest, it is organized annually in collaboration with different entities such us INFO from the Region of Murcia, Cajamurcia, Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo, the town council of Yecla and the Furniture Fair of Yecla. Both the Letargo armchair by Miguel Milá and the umbrella stand by Antonio Saturnino for Sancal won a first prize in the contest, and are shown in the exhibition at the Municipal Cultural House of Yecla until 23rd July. Once the exhibition finishes there, it will move to the facilities of CETEM, where it will be open until 31st December

Ya se ha inaugurado el hotel Casa Camper en Berlín. El segundo hotel de un proyecto muy original de la firma Camper en colaboración con la emblemática Vinçon de Barcelona.

THE CASA CAMPER FROM BERLIN Sancal with a new accommodation concept. The Casa Camper in Berlin is the second hotel of a very original project by Camper, in collaboration with the emblematic Vinçon of Barcelona.

Sancal ha colaborado en este proyecto con la butaca Boomerang Chill, diseñada por Quim Larrea. La butaca decora cada una de las 54 habitaciones y suites de Casa Camper. El propio Fernando Amat de Vinçon seleccionó el sillón Boomerang por su calidez, comodidad y originalidad, adjetivos todos extensibles a la famosa marca de zapatos.

Sancal has collaborated in this project with the Boomerang Chill armchair designed by Quim Larrea. The armchair is featured in each of the rooms and suites of the “house”. Fernando Amat selected Boomerang for its warmth, comfort and originality - adjectives that can be extended to the famous brand of shoes.

El diseño de Boomerang también ha sido reconocido por sendas nominaciones a los premios Delta que otorga ADI-FAD y a los Designpreis que concede el ministerio de cultura de Alemnania.

Boomerang's design has also been recognized by nominations to the Delta prizes, granted by ADI-FAD; and for the Designpreis, granted by the Culture Department in Germany.

_ HOTEL CASA CAMPER

THE CROSS_ by Sancal Sancal estrena nuevo showroom en Chipre. The Cross ha inaugurado una nueva tienda de dos plantas para la exposición de una selecta colección de productos, combinando propuestas contemporáneas del mejor diseño español, italiano y escandinavo. La silla Midori, la butaca Art, y los sofás Curve, City y Play se presentan en el showroom. Los tapizados de sofás son exclusivos de Sancal.

NEW SHOWROOM IN CYPRUS The Cross, a prestigious showroom in Cyprus, inaugurates a new twostory shop to display a select collection of products, combining contemporary pieces of the best Spanish, Italian and Scandinavian design. The upholstery shown is exclusively from Sancal: Midori and Art chairs; Curve, City and Play sofas are all presented.

Sancal ha presentado sus novedades en la feria internacional del mueble de Milán y en Construmat Barcelona, puntos de referencia mundial de las tendencias del mueble. Ambos eventos han revelado las nuevas propuestas de la firma, que sitúan sus referentes en el mundo de la literatura, el cine o la gastronomía y han contado con colaboraciones de nuevos diseñadores españoles. Sancal ha presentado sus nuevas creaciones, entre las que destacan el nacimiento de tres colecciones de sillas (Test y Maxie por Enrique Martí y Line por Odosdesign), una familia de taburetes (Midori, por Ebualà), el sofá Nosso por La Cubitera y la butaca Quadrat por Ximo Roca. Estos modelos comparten una filosofía común que Sancal define como “una secreta afición a rodearse de cultura, objetos, momentos y personas que siempre te aporten algo y te ayuden a crecer. Detalles que te ayudan a tener una vida bien amueblada”. Asímismo Sancal estuvo presente en la feria internacional de la construcción, Construmat, celebrada del 20 al 25 de abril en Barcelona. MILAN AND CONSTRUMAT BCN NEWS Sancal launched its new models at the Milan International Furniture Fair and at Construmat Barcelona, both of which are world-wide points of reference when talking about furniture trends. These events revealed the new objectives of the company, which set their references in the worlds of publishing, cinema and gastronomy, and have relied on the collaboration of new Spanish designers. Sancal introduced its new creations. Among them, we highlight three collections of chairs: Test and Maxie by Enrique Martín and Line by Odosdesign; a family of stools: Midori by Ebualà; the Nosso sofa by La Cubitera; and the Quadrat chair by Ximo Roca. These models share a common philosophy that Sancal defines as “a secret fondness for being surrounded by culture, objects, moments and people who always contribute and help us to grow. Details that help us to have a well furnished life”. Sancal was present at the International Construction Fair, Construmat, which took place from 20th to 25th of April in Barcelona. This fair, directed by professionals from the contract sector, relied on a great influx of people from the construction industry.

_ALMODOVAR_By Sancal Tras una satisfactoria experiencia durante el rodaje de Todo sobre mi madre, Sancal colabora una vez más con El Deseo, la productora de Pedro Almodóvar. En esta ocasión, el estelar reparto de Sancal, entre los que destacan Curve, Moss, Air, K2, Fusión, Constans, Elipse y Brisa, se codea con los grandes nombres de la escena española: Penélope Cruz, Lluís Homar y Blanca Portillo. La cinta fue seleccionada a concurso en la sección oficial de la edición número 62 Festival de Cannes.

SANCAL ACCOMPANIES ALMODÓVAR IN HIS NEW FILM After an amazing experience on the set of the Oscar winner Todo sobre mi madre (All about my mother), Sancal again collaborates with El Deseo - Almodóvar's production company - on his new film Los abrazos rotos. Among the scenes where Penélope Cruz, Lluís Homar and Blanca Portillo display their best interpretative talents, the following Sancal designs may be seen: Curve, Moss, Air, K2, Fusión, Constans, Elipse and Brisa. The film was selected to compete in the official section of the 62nd Cannes Festival.

Yo Dona ha preparado para su portal un especial sobre el diseño con color, para el que ha seleccionado el sofá Air en azul klein, la butaca Ártica en amarillo limón, y el sofá Lineal en rojo. La revista Diseño y Arquitectura presenta las últimas creaciones de los tops del diseño actual. Ocho diseños de ocho profesionales que causaron furor en la Feria de Milán.
