FROM THE OGLE OFFICE

DE EL PASTOR

Dear friends, We thank you for your support of this year’s “Giving Tree” which seems to have brought forth a record level of gifts and cash donations for needy children. Your donations are shared with families served by our own parish and by The Bridge to Life, the pro-life support service we affiliate with. Bridge’s mission statement says: “We provide informative, honest and compassionate counselling to empower pregnant women to choose life while serving our families with support, guidance and material assistance in order for them to raise their children in a loving and secure environment.” Thanks again for all your help. As has been our custom for many years, we present our annual financial report in this week’s bulletin, together with a summary of our pastoral report of sacramental activities and Mass attendance. The financial report has been prepared by our professional accounting firm, submitted to the Diocese and reviewed by our parish trustees and Finance Committee. Columns of numbers are helpful and necessary, but of course they cannot capture the flavor and vitality of parish life here. But they are nonetheless important to the degree they reflect that life and enable it to grow and flourish, Most of all I and our staff thank you for your support, financially and pastorally, in doing the Lord’s work here in our corner of His Vineyard, the Church.

Sean G. Ogle

God love you, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle

PARISH BULLETIN BOARD PRAYER OF THE WEEK New Year Prayer By Helen Steiner Rice God grant us this year a wider view, So we see others' faults through the eyes of You. Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue, Neither the adult ... nor the young. Give us patience and grace to endure And a stronger faith so we feel secure. Instead of remembering, help us forget The irritations that caused us to fret. Freely forgiving for some offense And finding each day a rich recompense. In offering a friendly, helping hand And trying in all ways to understand; That all of us whoever we are ... Are trying to reach an unreachable star. For the great and small ... the good and bad, The young and old ... the sad and glad Are asking today; Is life worth living? The answer is only in, loving and giving. For only Love can make man kind And Kindness of Heart brings Peace of Mind. By giving love, we can start this year To lift the clouds of hate and fear.
