DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO Estamos comenzando nuestro camino por el Tiempo Ordinario. Éste tiempo litúrgico tiene dos partes, que son divididas por la Cuaresma y la Semana Santa. El Tiempo Ordinario, donde el color representativo es el verde. El color verde significa hasta qué punto nuestras vidas se gastan en el curso normal de la vida. Por lo tanto, escuchamos la Palabra de Dios y vemos como éstas se aplican a nuestras vidas en condiciones normales. And then came to me, from the Diary of St. Faustina, 7 Advantages of trusting in the Mercy of God. First: The person that trusts in the Mercy will be happy because God will care for her. “The soul that trusts in the Mercy is the most happy, because I myself care for her” (D.1273) Second: She will not perish and will see God assuming her cause as His own “Whoever trusts in my mercy will not perish, because all her causes are mine. . .” (D.723) Third: She will have peace Humanity will have peace when it returns with confidence to My mercy (D. 300; 699) Fourth: She will receive all that she asks. “How much more the soul trusts, more she will receive” (D.1578) Fifth: God give you all that is necessary. “Your obligation is to trust completely in my kindness, and mine is to give you all that you need” (D. 548) Sixth: You will be cured of fear. “That not one soul may have fear that draws close to me. 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time A popular television commercial not only highlights people helping someone, but how others who witness their kindness are inspired to do the same. As one person helps another, still others spread the kind acts that have a ripple effect of touching many lives and changing social standards and concerns. Good deeds are an example of how we put into action our belief that everyone is made in the image and likeness of God. We recognize in them the Divine imprint of the Creator who brands each of us with an indelible mark of dignity and destiny. So it is no surprise that John should recognize Jesus as the chosen One, the Anointed, the Messiah. He sees with the eyes of faith the mark that sets Jesus apart and he announces it to all who would listen. Our life of faith includes not only bold acts of kindness, but also the bold announcement that Jesus is present among us as Lord and Messiah. We cannot hide our faith, nor deny we have it. II Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Autor: Padre Antonio Izquierdo www.es.catholic.net NEXO ENTRE LAS LECTURAS Los textos de hoy nos hablan de distintas maneras del objetivo de la misión de Jesús como Dios hecho hombre: “quitar el pecado del mundo” (Jn 1, 29). Esta realidad y el modo en que se lleva a cabo es expresado de diversas formas. El profeta Isaías nos dice que el siervo de Yahvé es consciente de haber sido elegido para hacer que el pueblo de Israel vuelva a Dios. El siervo experimenta la dureza y dificultad de su misión. Incluso él cree que su suerte está en Yahvé. El salmo 39 parece resaltar el contraste entre el sacrificio ritual de la ley de Moisés y la disposición de escucha obediente que agrada a Yahvé. Lo que verdaderamente importa es la disposición de corazón para agradar a Dios. San Juan habla en términos simbólicos de Jesús como el Cordero de Dios, ofrecido en sacrificio, que quita el pecado del mundo. Él reconoce en Jesús a aquel a quien Juan había preparado el camino. Juan había visto al Espíritu Santo descender sobre Él. San Pablo habla, en su saludo a los cristianos de Corinto, del doble aspecto de la redención: hemos sido santificados en Jesucristo y estamos llamados a ser santos en el nombre de Jesús. Mensaje doctrinal El Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo: es conveniente volver a repasar esta frase que recitamos en cada misa. La fe cristiana nos enseña que Dios se hizo hombre no sólo para vivir entre nosotros, sino también para dar su vida por nosotros. En el Antiguo Testamento había muchos tipos de ofrendas: sacrificios, holocaustos, expiaciones, oblaciones y reparaciones. Su significado colectivo era mostrar, por medio de gestos, la alabanza de Israel a Dios, la sumisión ante su poder divino, el arrepentimiento por sus pecados, y recordar con gratitud los dones de Dios. El gesto de las diferentes ofrendas simboliza estos esfuerzos por agradar a Dios. En el evangelio de san Juan, Jesús es presentado como un cordero destinado al sacrificio. La diferencia esta en que él realmente, y no sólo de modo simbólico, logra la transformación de la ofrenda (Él asume a toda la humanidad) en algo agradable ante la presencia de Dios. Podríamos hacer algunas preguntas: ¿qué significa y a qué se debe que el hombre se encuentre en un estado de injusticia original delante de Dios? ¿Cómo es posible que Cristo sea capaz de cargar con nuestros pecados, con nuestras injusticias, en su sacrificio? ¿Qué se ha obtenido con esto? ¿Qué debemos hacer para obtener los efectos de esta ofrenda? Existen verdades profundas sobre el hombre y sobre Dios que es necesario aclarar si los

cristianos quieren pasar del lenguaje simbólico a las realidades centrales de la fe cristiana. Referencias del catecismo: los números 571-573 se refieren al misterio pascual de la pasión y resurrección de Cristo; los números 599 -623 tratan de la muerte redentora de Cristo en el plan de salvación de Dios y del ofrecimiento voluntario de Cristo al Padre por nuestros pecados. El sacrificio de la obediencia: el contraste aparente en el salmo 39 es inusual. El salmista parece decir que las ofrendas mosaicas ordenadas por Dios ya no le agradan. La enseñanza de Cristo insiste en las actitudes internas del corazón más que en las expresiones exteriores; si hay una genuina conversión interior y un amor sincero a Dios y a los demás, entonces las formas externas corresponderán adecuadamente a las actitudes internas. Algo muy importante es la actitud de escucha atenta a la voz de Dios. Debemos desechar la tendencia de reducir nuestro culto a Dios a la mera observancia de unos ritos. El espíritu cristiano nos arrastra a un amor genuino a Dios y al prójimo, un amor que se manifiesta en obras nuevas, y no sólo se queda en unas cuantas formas fijas. Al mismo tiempo, esta disposición de escucha obediente requiere que el cristiano posea un espíritu humilde. De esta manera él es capaz de escuchar la palabra de Dios. Esta apertura interior lo mantiene en una obediencia activa y real. Referencias del catecismo: los números 144-152 tratan de la obediencia de la fe; el número 615 habla de la obediencia de Jesús como una reparación por nuestra desobediencia. Los caminos de Dios: Isaías menciona el sufrimiento implícito del siervo de Yahvé que no ve los resultados de su ardiente obra: “Por demás he trabajado, en vano y por nada consumí mis fuerzas” (v. 4). En Isaías encontramos un tono distinto: el siervo que sufre, que no ve las cosas claramente. Esto indica sin duda una parte del sufrimiento humano de Cristo. En algunas ocasiones parte de la vida cristiana es así: no conocer, solamente confiar en Dios. Esto no nos lleva a dejar de lado la razón, sino simplemente a reconocer sus límites. Estamos llamados a vivir según aquello que podemos entender, pero no estamos confinados a sus límites. Como cristianos sabemos que nuestras vidas y el mundo en que vivimos son una parte de un drama mucho mayor de lo que podemos ver.
