MARCH/ APRIL 2023 GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY - THE SPADY WAY We’re Not Just About Cars... For many years, Jerry and Greg Spady, along with their families and employees have proudly embraced a passion for giving back to the community of Hastings, Adams County and folks in South Central Nebraska. They realize the importance of enriching and improving the lives of their neighbors; men, women and children. They have accomplished this through philanthropy and active, personal involvement in the community. It’s “What It’s About”... By now, you may be watching your social media accounts for information on 2023 dates and details about our yearly events; 4th of July Extravaganza, Spookfest and a Very Spady Christmas. What you may not realize is that our involvement in the community does not stop there. Jerry Spady has taken part in sponsorship of multiple charity golf tournaments benefiting our hospital, Alzheimer’s research, and Teammates. They have held drives for items for shelter animals, the homeless and the elderly. They have sponsored the Adams County Fairfest and Oregon Trail Rodeo, sports teams, local air shows and regional car shows They also stepped up to the plate collecting items for those effected by disaster with “Flood Aid” in 2019 and “Stronger Than The Storm” in 2022. So What’s Next? The dealership is branching out with several new partnerships in 2023; each very unique in their own right. Watch us as we “spring” into action, ushering in the warmer weather with some new and exciting ventures. Those organizations we will be helping out include Nebraska Weather TV, the Hastings Sodbusters and the Bigfoot Crossroads of America Museum and Research Center. Read further to find out a little more background about these local businesses, what they do, and what they bring to the community of Hastings and central Nebraska.

2 NEBRASKA WEATHER TV Powered by Tim Jones a.k.a. “Tim the Weather Guy”, Nebraska Weather TV launched in 2022 and has been blowing up social media ever since. Tim brings reliable weather information to the community through both static and live broadcasts 24/7. With 25 years of experience in television, this meteorologist fills a void that was much needed; giving us immediate access to the conditions around us via new and cutting edge platforms. Those platforms include The Roku Channel, Fire TV, Applet V, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Cobalt TV and through mobile apps available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Tim is also an active storm chaser and most recently arrived with his crew in Mississippi on March 24th - just in time to witness the devastating EF-4 tornado that took 25 lives and in Iowa on March 31st where he went live on-air, filming a monster EF-4 tornado northeast of Ottumwa. He was also the catalyst of “Stronger Than the Storm”, a weekend event last October where a semi-trailer of much needed supplies donated by the people of Adams and Hall County was filled and taken to Florida to aid victims of Hurricane Ida. He pulled this event off in less than a week! That speaks volumes to the energetic, forward thinking entrepreneur Tim Jones is. We are proud to sponsor Nebraska Weather TV and look forward to this partnership for many years to come.

HASTINGS SODBUSTERS The Hastings Sodbusters are a collegiate summer baseball team in the Independence Baseball League and have called Duncan Field in Hastings home since 2018. Collegiate summer wood bat baseball is the fastest growing segment of the sports entertainment industry, with more than 450 teams in more than 40 leagues throughout North America. The Sodbusters bring you high-level baseball and a great way to spend a summer evening with your family. At the games, there are lot of activities going on, fun concessions, a well-equipped playground for the kids, adult attractions with a VIP Club section and Party Zone serving local food, beer and wine. Live music and fireworks is also be part of the mix before select games. The team also hosts the league’s all star game, which includes a home run derby, banquet dining and celebrity concert performances. Even a non-baseball fan can have a really good time at the ballpark.” This year, Jerry Spady is hopping on the band wagon, joining a multitude of local business sponsors supporting the Sodbuster’s 2023 season. That season opens up on May 23rd at home against Fremont. Watch our Facebook page for special Spady nights at the ballpark and enter on on-line contests for free Sodbuster’s sway to wear to the games. We will also be giving out tickets so be sure to keep an eye out for our posts and win a trip to Duncan Field. Go Sodbusters!

BIGFOOT CROSSROADS OF AMERICA Since its Grand Opening in 2018, The Bigfoot Crossroads of America Museum and Research Center located in Hastings has proven themselves to be a destination of great interest to many; they have had visitors from 39 states and 14 foreign countries. They have garnered local, national and international recognition with inclusion in the U.S. Library of Congress Archives, receipt of a special day set aside as Bigfoot Crossroads of Nebraska Day from the state, and as a participant in the Nebraska Tourism Commission's Passport 2020 Program. All facts and exhibits are based on their main goal - that everything is historical, educational and scientific - absolutely no exceptions. Whether one is a believer or not, the multitude of exhibits in all fields of cryptozoology are both educational and intriguing. The museum has recently completed renovations of an old church on the property as additional space for more exhibits with the Grand Opening scheduled for Thursday, April 20th, 2023. The museum is open to the public for a very small fee which helps with operations and upkeep of the facility. Come to the 6th Annual Nebraska Bigfoot Convention and bring an open mind!
