En la pasada Asamblea General celebrada el 29 de Marzo, Acosol, S.A. fue elegida por unanimidad la empresa encargada para llevar a cabo el suministro de agua y saneamiento en nuestra urbanización durante un periodo de 15 años. En esta Asamblea también se aprobó por unanimidad la versión definitiva del contrato así como la autorización a la Presidenta de la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda para llevar a cabo la firma del mismo, lo cual se hizo ese mismo día. Acosol, S.A. empresa comenzará a prestar sus servicios a partir del 1 de Octubre de 2007 puesto que la actual empresa Aquagest Sur, S.A. dejará de prestar el servicio el día anterior. Para aquellos que no estuvieron presentes en la Asamblea vamos a relatar brevemente la adjudicación del nuevo contrato y el proceso que se ha llevado a cabo.

The Annual General Assembly at its meeting held on 29th March 2007 voted unanimously to elect Acosol as the company in charge of managing the water supply and drainage in Sitio de Calahonda for a period of 15 years. Further they unanimously approved the final version of the contract with Acosol and authorised the president to sign the same, which the president duly did on the same day. For those of you who were not present at the AGM we give a brief history of the awarding of the new contract and process that had been undertaken. The process began when a letter was sent to Aquagest informing them that its contract would not be automatically renewed at the end of September 2007. The Board of Directors then elected a contracting commission with five members including the Manager of the EUC Antonio Aparicio. A calendar of activities was instigated in order for the commission to begin its work. Jose Arteaga our lawyer prepared a protocol for the legal framework and procedures that would be adopted during this process. Adverts were placed in the local and national press asking interested companies to tender for the new contract. A list of priorities was prepared that detailed the minimum requirements that the commission would expect from any interested company. Initially nine companies expressed their interest in participating in the tendering process and meetings were held with each of them, the object being that they could present themselves and report on their company and the services that they provided and to explain in detail the priorities that we expected for the contract of water. Once representatives of the companies had visited our urbanisation and analyzed our installations accompanied by our technical engineer, we prepared a detailed list of investments that was required to repair, renew or improve our installations which would guarantee a good service of water and sewage system. We did not put a price on these investments as we preferred that the companies did that themselves, so that we could check on each price and see how and why the differed from each other. In this way we were able to achieve a balanced view of the costs they had projected. All of the companies were given 30 days to devise a tender and present to the EUC. In the end 6 companies formally presented detailed tenders which were opened on 4th January 2007 in public, having invited Administrators and representatives of the interested companies. Those companies were, Acosol, Aquagest, Agua y Gestion, Gestagua and Urbaser.

Luego la Junta Directiva, eligió a un comité de contratación formado por cinco miembros de la Junta Directiva y el Director de la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda. Se preparó un calendario de actividades para que el comité pudiera empezar a trabajar. Nuestro abogado José Arteaga preparó un protocolo con las bases de la contratación. Se pusieron anuncios en periódicos locales y nacionales para que las empresas interesadas pudieran participar en el concurso para el nuevo contrato. Se preparó una lista de prioridades que detallaba los requisitos mínimos que el comité iba a esperar de cualquier empresa interesada. Inicialmente, nueve empresas mostraron su interés en participar en el concurso y se mantuvieron reuniones con cada una de ellas para que nos informaran sobre su empresa, de los servicios que ofrecían y explicarles detalladamente las prioridades que esperábamos del contrato de agua. Una vez que los representantes de cada empresa visitaron nuestra urbanización y analizado nuestras instalaciones junto con nuestro ingeniero, preparamos una lista de inversiones necesarias para la reparación, renovación o mejora de nuestras instalaciones que garanticen un buen servicio de agua y red de saneamiento. A todas las empresas se les dio un plazo de 30 días para presentar su oferta. Al final fueron 6 las empresas que presentaron formalmente sus ofertas y fueron abiertas en público el 4 de enero de 2007. Esas empresas fueron, Acosol, Aquagest, Agua y Gestión, gestagua y Urbaser.

Each offer was given a period of approximately one week by members of the commission to study the proposal. Members of the commission, once they had studied the proposal, made comments based on the list of priorities during many of the meetings that were held at this time. Lists were prepared allowing the commission to compare one proposal against another and formulate opinions as to what each company was offering. This process was arduous and long by its very nature as the information gained had to be correct and checked for its viability showing the strengths and weaknesses of the companies concerned. We should mention that one of the demands that were made by the commission was that we required each company to include in its offer all of the investments required in the installations of water supply and the sewer system without any additional costs for the neighbours of Calahonda. There were many differing offers, some offered more investments than had been asked, others wanted to give a financial benefit direct to the EUC for their disposition. It soon became clear that in relation to the investments offered the majority would recover their costs through the price charged for the water. The public company Acosol also offered all of

También queremos hacer hincapié, una vez más, en el uso de los contenedores de reciclado, últimamente estamos teniendo muchos problemas con los cartones. Cajas procedentes de mudanzas, bares y supermercados son depositadas al lado de los contenedores de basura doméstica o de los de papel, de esta manera no son recogidos por la empresa encargada produciendo acumulaciones de basura. Para evitar estos problemas es muy importante que se plieguen las cajas y se introduzcan dentro de los contenedores, por favor asegúrese que las procedentes de su mudanza han sido recicladas conforme a lo mencionado anteriormente, si observa prácticas de este tipo en los locales cercanos a su vivienda hágalo saber a la oficina de la comunidad y tomaremos medidas. En esta época del año también aparecen frecuentemente muebles viejos en cualquier lugar, por favor antes de depositar enseres de gran tamaño en nuestras calles, contacte con nuestra oficina en el 952.93.20.40, que se encargará de avisar al camión de Limusa que pasa los jueves.

Como todos los años en el mes de Junio se celebrará en el Parque Vivero la tradicional fiesta de Sitio de Calahonda este año se llevará a cabo el próximo día 30 de Junio por la tarde. El calendario de las distintas actividades será el siguiente:

PETANCA El Club de petanca de Calahonda con sede en el parque infantil de Av. de España ha cosechado este año numerosas victorias. En los campeonatos provinciales, se ha quedado primeros en todos los torneos obteniendo por tanto el título de campeones provinciales. Se han ganado varios torneos de la liga andaluza quedando campeones de dicha liga en la modalidad de dupletas y subcampeones en la modalidad de tripletas. Han participado en cinco campeonatos de España quedando subcampeones de España empatados a puntos con el campeón, el equipo de Fuenlabrada. Debemos agradecer a su presidente D. José Portáz el esfuerzo realizado por este Club así como felicitarles por los éxitos conseguidos.

FRENCH BOWLS The French bowl club of Calahonda at the children’s park in Avda. de España has gathered many victories. Several tournaments of the Andalucian league have been won, first place in the “dupletas” modality and second place in the “tripletas” modality. They have participated in five national championships reaching the runner-ups with the same points as the champions, a team from Fuenlabrada. The summer campaign for security has started with several changes. Two more huts have been installed, one at the entrance of Avda. de España on the west side (near Cipreses and Campanario shopping centres) and another in calle Huelva. MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2007

El resultado de las últimas elecciones municipales en Mijas ha sido de 14 concejales para el PSOE y 11 para el PP, de esta forma nuestro Ayuntamiento continuara gobernado por el PSOE con D. Agustín Moreno al frente del mismo. El índice general de participación ha sido muy bajo, un 54% en todo el municipio. Con respecto al voto de lo extranjeros han votado menos un 20%. Es decir, de un total de 2.700 censados ni siquiera 350 residentes extranjeros han ejercido su derecho al voto.

The results of the last municipal elections in Mijas were:- 14 councillors for the PSOE and 11 for the PP. This means that our Town Hall continues to be governed by the PSOE with Mr. Agustín Moreno as Mayor. The general participation figures have been very low, 54% of the entire municipality. As for foreigners’ votes, less than 20% have voted. This means that, of a total of 2.700 registered voters, only 350 foreign residents have used their voting right.

En dicho teléfono podrán también presentar su queja en inglés. También es efectivo poner una reclamación por escrito en la oficina de correos en Fuengirola o por medio de la página web de correos. El modo de proceder es como sigue: www.correos.es dentro de esta página debe entrar en el apartado de Atención al cliente, una vez que estén allí, han de pulsar reclamaciones y quejas, aparece una literatura y escrito en letras azules quejas y reclamaciones, en quejas pueden dejar su reclamación y les facilitaran un número de registro que es el código de identificación de su queja que han de conservar para futuras reclamaciones. Es muy importante que todos realicemos nuestras quejas pues es el único medio para que en correos tengan conocimiento del estado de reparto en nuestra urbanización, la efectividad de las quejas individuales está comprobada. Desde la oficina de la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda hemos enviado escritos al Jefe de Correos de Fuengirola así como a toda la cadena de instancias superiores.

PETANCA COMPETITION

El pasado fin de semana se celebró el I Open Internacional de Petanca en Calahonda. Hubo representación de casi todos los puntos de España y de Europa, como Bélgica, Finlandia o Portugal. En el evento participaron 82 equipos, 64 formados por hombres y 18 por mujeres, y más de trescientos jugadores. Los equipos en la modalidad masculina jugaron en tripletas y en féminas, en dupletas. Durante la jornada del sábado se disputaron las liguillas previas. La final masculina la disputaron Marruecos y el club alicantino de La Nucia. Marruecos ganó por 13 a 9 puntos y ambos equipos destacaron lo equilibrado del choque. La final femenina enfrentó a las duplas de l Club de Petanca San Pedro y Club Paraíso de Alicante. El equipo capitaneado por la campeona de España y del mundo, consiguió ganar al equipo malagueño por 13-7. La organización del evento se mostró muy satisfecho con el desarrollo de esta competición internacional y no descarta una segunda edición.

Last weekend the 1st International Petanca Open was held and organised by the Petanca Club of Calahonda. Nearly all the regions of Spain were represented as well as European countries such as Belgium, Finland and Portugal. 82 groups participated, 64 formed by men and 18 by women, with more than 300 players. The men’s groups played in “triplets” and the ladies in “doubles”. On Saturday they played the qualifying rounds and on Sunday morning the quarter finals were held. The Petanca enthusiasts didn’t want to miss a thing. Both male and female world champions were there and this gave more prestige to the event. The men’s final was between Morocco and the Alicantino Club of La Nucia. Morocco won by 13 to 9 points and both teams pointed out what a hard-fought game it had been. The women’s final was between the San Pedro Petanca Club and the Club Paraíso from Alicante. The team captained by the Spanish champion and world champion beat the Malaga team by 13-7. The organisers of the event were very satisfied with the development of this international competition and it is possible another similar competition will be held.
