Mary: The Indispensable Mother of God

Relevant Radio® is “Talk Radio for Catholic Life” produces 60 hours of original programming each week. Relevant Radio creates a community of hope. Through this personal and intimate forum of communications, hope is rekindled, marriages are saved, souls draw closer to Christ and His Church, and the Truth sets many free. You can also listen on the web or get the FREE APP!

Tim Staples explains the incredible impact that the Church’s understanding of Mary has on our spiritual lives, and the profound way that Marian doctrines and dogmas safeguard what we believe about her Son. Using penetrating insights and humor, Tim shows how correct knowledge of our humble Mother reveals our own identity in Christ, and empowers us to say “Yes” to God!

Year of Mercy Mary, Mother of Mercy In the story of the Wedding at Cana we get our first glimpse of Mary in her role as intercessor and advocate. Mary sees that the wine has run out, and with her merciful heart, brings this need to the attention of her Son. Jesus abundantly answers her request by making over 100 gallons of wine! In the words of St. John Paul II:

CD’s are available in the Gathering Space for $3.00 each.

Vigil of the Holy Spirit

“At Cana in Galilee there is shown only one concrete aspect of human need, apparently a small one of little importance (“They have no wine”). But it has symbolic value: this coming to the aid of human needs means, at the same time, bringing those needs within the radius of Christ’s messianic mission and salvific power…Mary “intercedes” for mankind.” (Redemtoris Mater, nn. 21-22) As exemplified at Cana, Mary has mercy on us in our times of need. We ask our Mother of Mercy for her intercession to take our needs to Christ. For example, in the Memorare we pray, “Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided… O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.” We are blessed to have recourse to such a powerful Mother of Mercy!

Reignite the power that you received on your Confirmation and renew the gifts of the Holy Spirit in your life! Join with the New Evangelization Ministry on Saturday, May 14, at 8:30 pm-10:00 pm in church Adoration until 11:00 pm For a night filled with praise and worship, music, prayer, reflection, Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8

Pope Quote We want to live this Jubilee Year in light of the Lord’s words: Merciful like the Father. The Evangelist reminds us of the teaching of Jesus who says, “Be merciful just as your Father is merciful” (Lk 6:36). It is a programme of life as demanding as it is rich with joy and peace. Jesus’s command is directed to anyone willing to listen to his voice (cf. Lk 6:27). In order to be capable of mercy, therefore, we must first of all dispose ourselves to listen to the Word of God. This means rediscovering the value of silence in order to meditate on the Word that comes to us. In this way, it will be possible to contemplate God’s mercy and adopt it as our lifestyle. — Pope Francis May 8, 2016 PAGE 5
