Coming Nov. 27th, 2011:
Soon we will begin implementing the third edition of the Roman Missal. The most change you will recognize in this new Mass book is in the translation of the text. The translation more closely corresponds to the Latin, which is richer in imagery, and hopefully will promote deeper prayer. As you hear these new texts, it is better not to analyze them but to allow the prayer to capture your heart and lift yourselves to God. • • •
10th Anniversary Birthday Celebration for SAN JUAN DIEGO CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL (SJDCHS) Ten years ago, Archbishop Gregory Aymond recognized the acute need for affordable Catholic, college preparatory education in Austin and opened San Juan Diego Catholic High School (SJDCHS) in August 2002. To date, the school has graduated six classes of students! We will be kicking off San Juan Diego’s homecoming week, as well as celebrating the 10th anniversary of the school. This will be a great time for community members to come out to the campus for a night of fun games, door prizes, great food, friends and family.

Hard to believe, but it is time again for ALL ministries to submit their reservation requests for meeting space for 2012 to the Church Office by Oct. 15, 2011. This year we ask that you please complete the reservation forms that are available at the Church Office or that can be found on our website www. sanjosechurch.org. This process will again call us to come together in a collaborative (not competitive) spirit so as to provide the opportunity for all ministries to use the parish facilities. It was this spirit of patience and collaboration on your part that made last year’s success possible. Thank you and we look forward to another year of successful planning. Please contact the Church Office if you have any questions concerning this process. Pray for our loved ones in the military,/ Ore por nuestros seres queridos en el ejército, SPC. Prayer for Rain
Whatever we ask in Your Name, Lord God, You have promised to grant. We come now with You in our hearts, to pray for rain. We are firmly convinced that you, according to the measure of Your wisdom, goodness and love, have the omnipotent power to send us the rain we need. We ask this in humility, knowing Your great goodness. We beg your assistance, remembering Your words, “Ask and you shall receive.” Amen.
Amen.

COMPROMISO PARROQUIAL
The first son in today’s Gospel said he would do his father’s bidding, but did not. The second son balked at first, but then repented and did as he was asked. What service is God calling me to do? Which son am I more like?
¿A cuál hijo me parezco mas yo?

The San Jose Religious Education, Youth Ministry Program has a Hispanic Youth Leadership Program entitled “RESPETO”. RESPETO is a yearlong formation process offering sessions that foster spiritual growth and skills for Latino youth to take an active role in the life and mission of the Church. This culturally vibrant program is especially geared toward Mexican American youth (ages 14-18). The coordinators of RESPETO are currently searching for two (2) or more adult volunteers who would like to be a part of a team of adults who will lead this program.
