Please wear your St. Monica nametag, if you have one Please arrive for your shift at 6:00 p.m. All tickets are $1.00 (the only discounts were given for advance sales) All food, water, soft drinks and games are 1 ticket each. Beer and wine are 3 tickets. Place money in top of cash box until tickets and change are handed to customer When they are satisfied with their change, place cash in appropriate space in cash box If you have questions, please ask Barb Bacon, our Business Manager, who will be in the ticket sales booth with you throughout the evening 8. We are short of volunteers for our 7:45 p.m. shift; if you like, you can stay a little longer!

50/50 RAFFLE SALES – VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS 1. Tickets are $1.00 each. They will be sold at the ticket booth and beer tent only. 2. Tickets can be sold only to those 18 years old and older. If in doubt, ask and explain you must be 18 years old to play. 3. Cash and tickets for 50-50 sales must be kept separate from regular ticket sales cash. 4. Ticket sales will end at 9:00 p.m. 5. Drawing will be held at 9:15 p.m. The winner of the 50-50 drawing will win half the cash collected. Winner will be required to complete a W-9 for their winnings.

When a volunteer comes to the booth, ask them to place an ‘X’ next to their name on their shift; names will be in alphabetical order by first name. 4. If they do not know where they are working, show them on the map 5. If they are not wearing a St. Monica nametag, ask them to fill out a paper nametag 6. If they are working in a food or game booth, hand them a blue apron and ask them to return it to the ticket booth at the end of their shift 7. Thank the volunteer for working and give each volunteer 3 tickets in appreciation for serving 8. If you have questions, please ask Barb Bacon, our Business Manager, who will be in the ticket sales booth with you throughout the evening

GAMES BOOTH – VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS 1. Please wear your St. Monica nametag, if you have one 2. Please arrive for your shift at 6:00 p.m. or 7:45 as designated on schedule; if you are second shift, please watch the person who had the shift before you play the game once or twice. Tell them you are their replacement and ask if there’s anything they think you need to know. 3. In your booth, you will find a plastic bin which includes the prizes for your booth and a bucket to place the tickets for your booth. 4. Please place prizes out of reach of contestants. 5. Please ask all players to wait in an orderly line (so we don’t have hurt feelings) 6. All games are one ticket each. You can accept tickets only…no cash. 7. When a player reaches the front of the line, place ticket in bucket 8. Play game (see specific instructions for your game below) 9. Tell every player “great job!” If player has won, give them the “big prize” for your booth 10. If player did not win, give them a consolation prize (a coin, sticker, or tattoo) 11. If they would like to play again, they must go to the end of the line

BALLOON DARTS – players receive 3 darts; if they pop no balloons, they receive a consolation prize; if they pop one or more balloons, they get the “big” prize. Only one prize no matter how many they pop. LUCKY DUCKS – Players simply turn over a duck in the pond; if the duck has a “*” on the bottom, they receive “big prize”; if not they receive a consolation prize. STARRY NIGHT RING TOSS – players receive 3 rings; if they hook zero or one ring, they receive consolation prize; if they hook 2 or 3 rings, they get the “big” prize. Only one prize no matter how many they pop. SOARING EAGLE FOOTBALL TOSS – players receive two footballs to throw through the tire; if they get the football through the tire, they win the “big” prize; if not they win consolation prize. If ball gets stuck it tires, they get the big prize. SPONGE BOB/PATRICK BEAN BAG TOSS – players receive three bean bags to throw in Sponge Bob or Patrick. If they get zero or one bag in the target, they get a consolation prize. If they get two or more bags in the target, they get the “big” prize BUCKET TOSS – players receive three balls; if they miss or get ball in bottom bucket, they get a consolation prize; if they get the ball in the middle or top bucket, they get the “big prize.” Only one prize no matter how many buckets they make.

CAKE BOOTH – VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS 1. Please wear your St. Monica nametag, if you have one 2. When you check in at the ticket booth, you will receive a blue apron to wear during your shift. 3. Please arrive for your shift at 6:00 p.m. or 7:45 as designated on schedule; if you are second shift, please watch the person who had the shift before you serve one or two guests. Tell them you are their replacement and ask if there’s anything they think you need to know. 4. The cake distributed at the cake booth is free…it’s a special gift for St. Monica’s feast day. 5. Please cut the cake on the grid lines on the cake and place on paper plate with a fork. 6. One piece of cake per person. If you think someone has been there before, ask them nicely if they’ve already had a piece. If they say it’s for mom or dad, give them the benefit of the doubt. 7. If they ask if there are seconds, tell them they can come back at 9:00, and if there is still cake left, they can have a second piece. 8. If you are running low on cake, please look for a food runner in a bright yellow shirt.

TORTA BOOTH – INSTRUCCIONES DE VOLUNTARIADO 1. Por favor, use su gaffete St. Monica, si tienes uno. 2. Cuando te registras en la taquilla, usted recibirá un delantal azul para usar durante tu turno. 3. Por favor lleguen para tu turno a 18:00 o 7:45 como señalado en el calendario; Si eres el segundo turno, por favor ver a la persona que tenía el turno antes que servir a uno o dos invitados. Diles que eres su reemplazo y preguntar si hay algo que ellos creen que tienes que saber. 4. La torta distribuida en el stand de pastel es libre... es un regalo especial para el día de la fiesta de Santa Mónica. 5. Por favor, corte el pastel en las líneas de cuadrícula en el pastel y coloque en el plato de papel con un tenedor. 6. Un pedazo de torta por persona. Si crees que alguien ha estado allí antes, pregúntales amablemente si ya han tenido un pedazo. Si dicen que es para mamá o papá, darles el beneficio de la duda. 7. Si te preguntan si hay segundos, diles que pueden volver a las 9:00, y si todavía queda pastel, pueden tener una segunda pieza. 8. Si está ejecutando bajo sobre el pastel, por favor, busque un corredor de comida en una camisa amarilla.

Tell them you are their replacement and ask if there’s anything they think you need to know. 3. In your booth, you will find a bucket in which to place the tickets for your booth. 4. All beverages in this booth are 1 ticket each. You can accept tickets only…no cash. 5. Ask the guest what they would like to drink, take their ticket and hand them their drink. 6. Place ticket in the bucket. 7. If you are running low on beverages, please look for a food runner in a bright yellow shirt.

STAND DE BEBIDAS – INSTRUCCIONES DE VOLUNTARIADO 1. Por favor, use su gaffete St. Monica, si tienes uno. 2. Tell them you are their replacement and ask if there’s anything they think you need to know. 3. In your booth, you will find a plastic bin with cups, cocktail napkins, and a bucket for your tickets. 4. All beer and wine are 3 tickets per glass. You can accept tickets only…no cash. 5. Ask each person who comes to the booth that looks like they are 30 years old or younger for their I.D. Verify that they are at least 21 years old (born on or before August 24, 1992). We are hoping to have an off-duty volunteer officer available to check IDs. 6. Fill beer glasses ¾ full; fill wine glasses 2/3 full. 7. Place tickets in the bucket. 8. DO NOT GIVE ANY FREE DRINKS or overfill drinks. We all love to be neighborly, but this creates a liability for St. Monica Catholic Church. We cannot serve free drinks. 9. If someone seems impaired/has had too much to drink, please do not continue to serve them. The typical adult at the festival for three-to-four hours should have no more than three drinks. Discreetly offer the person a bottle of water or soft drink. If you are in doubt, please find Mel Ullrich or Barb Bacon. You can reach us on our cell phones at 317-697-3232 (Mel) or 317-670-3801 (Barb). Also, please call us if someone appears to need a ride home and should not drive.

Above you in the booth, you will see a diagram of what one serving looks like. 8. Please serve the serving size that is indicated. We have many people to serve! 9. Please ask the guest what they would like, take their ticket, place ticket in bucket, and hand guest their food. Remember to smile and say thank you! ☺ 10. Please do not leave until your replacement has arrived. 11. Please return your blue apron to the ticket booth so we can wash it and use it for the next event.
