Dear Spanish II Parents and Students, !
¡Saludos! Greeting from Oak Lawn Community High School. Enclosed is a summer work packet for OLCHS students entering Spanish II in the fall of 2016. This packet is a required assignment designed to reinforce what students have learned in Spanish I and make for a more productive transition into the next level. The exercises in the packet target the key grammatical concepts of the language that will give students the basis for success and they continue learning the language. Summer break is quite long, so we recommend that students work on the packet in the days leading up to the beginning of the fall semester so that it remains fresh in their minds. The packet will be due within the first week of the semester. Again, thank you for enrolling in Spanish II and for your cooperation in completing this modest summer assignment. It is sure to be beneficial to you and to our program. Spanish 1 to 2 Práctica Veraniega This packet will be taken as your first grade of Spanish 2. It needs to be completed by the first day of classes. We suggest that you complete these activities during the last 2-3 weeks of the summer so that they’re fresh in your mind.
GUSTAR' gustar the preposition a is used before the subject pronoun. Take a look at the model. To express emphasis or clarification in a sentence with verbs like
Modelo: nosotros / jugar fútbol. A nosotros nos gusta jugar al fútbol.
OR
Nos gusta jugar al fútbol a nosotros.
***Tú and Yo should NEVER be part of a sentence instead mí and ti is used.
Other verb that also follow the same grammatical rule:
encantar – to love
*doler (o ue) – to hurt
molestar – to bother
fascinar – fascinate
importar – to matter
parecer – to appear/seem like
aburrir – to be bored
interesar – to interest
