DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY HOW TO PRAY THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY
CÓMO REZAR LA CORONILLA DE DIVINA MISERICORDIA
Optional Opening Prayers:
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. (Repeat 3 times) O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! Our Father, Hail Mary and the Apostle's Creed For each of the five decades (On each “Our Father” bead of the rosary, pray) Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. (On each of the 10 “Hail Mary” beads, pray) For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Concluding prayer (Repeat 3 times) Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Optional Closing Prayer Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

50 days of Easter have begun. These joyful days of Easter season invite us to reflect more deeply God’s mercy and love. To get to that point, appreciate each morning waking up from sleep. I live because God is alive! This Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. St. John Paul II instituted every Second Sunday of Easter as Feast of Divine Mercy. This feast should remind us of God’s saving work throughout time. I invite you to consider having a devotion to the Divine Mercy. Every afternoon at 3:00, remember to pray the Divine Mercy Prayer also known as the 3 O’clock Prayer. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is also a beautiful way to make that devotion. Here is a copy of the 3 O’clock Prayer (source: catholicnewsagency.com): You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fountain of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, cover the whole world and empty yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a Fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world. (3 times) Jesus, King of Mercy, we trust in You! o0o I invite you all to support our Soup Kitchen’s Spaghetti Dinner to raise funds to help South Albany High School rebuild. Many of our high school students go to SAHS. Besides that many of our elementary graders go to those schools served by SAHS kitchen. I believe our collaboration in this project is a manifestation of love for family. If you are unable to come to the Spaghetti Dinner, please consider donating cash. The office will accept monetary donations.
Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Feast of Divine Mercy - April 12 - Pray the Chaplet in His Eucharistic Presence! "Adore in the Blessed Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy." (Words of Jesus to St. Maria Faustina of the Blessed Sacrament, Divine Mercy in My Soul, 1572) My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners. If only they could understand that I am the best of Fathers to them and that it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy. I desire to bestow My graces upon souls, but they do not want to accept them. You, at least come to Me as often as possible and take these graces they do not want to accept. In this way you will console My Heart." (ibid 367) "Do all you possibly can for this work of My mercy. I desire that My mercy be worshipped, and I am giving mankind the last hope of salvation; that is, recourse to My Mercy." (ibid 978) Please join us in the chapel for Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament this Friday following the 8:30 mass and going until 8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome. Spend as much or as little time as you can. Contact Jackie at 917-0458 or Theresa at 926-3114 or Caroline at 924-9952 evenings, or just stop by. Thank You for offering our Lord this special hour. Expect God's blessing, and give Him thanks. Care for Creation: Some authors have coined the term “Nature Deficit Disorder” when writing about how children are growing up without being exposed to nature. On a nice day this Spring, take a walk with a child drawing their attention to the sights and sounds and wonders of Creation.
