Family Prayer

oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence, murder and racism. We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people. Bless parents that they may form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence. Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family.

4:00 pm Mass Entrance Here I Am, Lord 1. I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin. My hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Refrain Here I am Lord. Is it I, Lord?

I have heard You calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if You lead me, I will hold Your people in my heart. 2. I, the Lord of snow and rain. I have borne My people's pain. I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak My word to them. Whom shall I send? 3. I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, *ll their hearts be sa*sfied. I will give my life to them. Offertory Amazing Grace 1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind but now I see. 2. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed! 3. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and por*on be as long as life endures. 4. Thru’ many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come; ‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

You shall speak your words in foreign lands and all will understand. You shall see the face of God and live. Refrain Be not afraid. I go before you always. Come, follow me, and I will give you rest. 2. If you pass through raging waters in the sea, you shall not drown. If you walk amid the burning flames, you shall not be harmed. If you stand before the pow'r of hell and death is at your side, know that I am with you through it all. 3. Blessed are your poor, for the kingdom shall be theirs. Blest are you that weep and mourn, for one day you shall laugh. And if wicked tongues insult and hate you all because of me, blessed, blessed are you! By: B. Dufford, SJ©1978. OCP Publica*ons. Christ Has No Body Now But Yours Refrain Christ has no body now but yours, no hands but yours. Here on this earth yours is the work, to serve with the joy of compassion.

Offertory

1. No hands but yours to heal the wounded world, no hands but yours to soothe all its suff’ring, no touch but yours to bind the broken hope of the people of God. 2. No eyes but yours to see as Christ would see, to find the lost,

In Christ Alone 1. In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are s*lled, when strivings cease. My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand 2. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fulness of God in helpless babe! This giY of love and righteousness,

Scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was sa*sfied. For every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live. 3. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain; Then, burs*ng forth in glorious Day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me; For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ. 4. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my des*ny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand! By: K. Ge0y; S. Towned©2001. All rights reserved. Communion I Will Choose Christ Refrain I will choose Christ, I will choose love, I choose to serve. I give my heart, I give my life, I give my all to you. 1. How many *mes must he call my name and show to me that he is God? And as a servant he calls to me, “You must serve too.” 2. Christ, my teacher and healer, teach my heart and heal my soul. And as I walk this road with you, teach me to love. 3. As I look upon your cross,

Refrain Jesus, Messiah; Name above all names; Blessed Redeemer; Emmanuel. The Rescue for sinners, the Ransom from heaven; Jesus, Messiah, Lord of all. 2. His body the bread, His blood the wine broken and poured out, all for love. The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn. LENT AND EASTER REGULATIONS

REGULACIONES DE CUARESMA Y PASCUA DE RESURRECCION

A distinction is to be made between Lent and the Easter Triduum. Strictly speaking, Lent ends with the beginning of the Triduum on Holy Thursday. Lent runs from Ash Wednesday until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday.

Fasting is to be observed on Ash Wednesday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Those who are bound to fast may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to each one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.

Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years or older on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays of Lent. The determination of certain days as obligatory days of penance should not be understood as limiting the occasions for Christian penance. The spirit of the season of Lent should be maintained throughout the weeks of Lent. The obligation to observe penitential days of the Church is serious. Failure to observe individual days of penance is not necessarily considered serious. No one should be scrupulous in this regard. People should seek to do more rather than less, since fast and abstinence on the days prescribed should be considered a minimal response to the Lord’s call to penance and conversion of life.

Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
