DID YOU KNOW? Pokémon Go stops could lead kids to dangerous places With the popular game Pokémon Go, kids can interact with virtual game components in real-life locations. Some features of the game can present serious dangers for children using the app and interacting with other gamers. “PokéStops” – locations in which players can collect Pokémon – can be anywhere, and recently, one was reported to be at the entrance of a rehabilitation center that housed sex offenders. Parents should be aware of the game’s features and monitor children’s use to ensure that any Pokémon collecting is done safely. SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL PLEASE be an ANGEL & PICK an ANGEL! The parish Respect Life Group is again sponsoring the Christmas Angel Tree to help the Lompoc Pregnancy & Parenting Support Ctr. They help with crisis pregnancies, baby care, parenting classes and adoption information. They are always in need of baby clothes and baby items. They also welcome “gently used” baby clothes. Needed baby items are listed on the back of each angel on the Angel tree in the church vestibule. So…PLEASE BE AN ANGEL, and PICK AN ANGEL from the tree and drop off the unwrapped baby item in the ANGEL BOX at MASS by DECEMBER 28th. The members of the SVDP La Purisima Conference, would like to thank everyone for the continuous support. Last year 2015, we were able to assist almost 300 people. For a total of $30,541.00. With your generous donations we helped with clothing, food, rent and utilities. Keeping families clothed, warm, fed, and housed, is a gift from all who have donated. We thank you in advance for donating to this wonderful Ministry. God Bless! We are now going to begin our Toy drive for our Christmas H.O.P.E. (Helping Other s Pr ovide Enough) store. Last year we had 97 families, and over 250 children, that received 3 toys each. It was such a success. The par ents wer e allowed to select 3 gifts per child and wrap them before leaving. The Catholic Daughters are praying the rosary after the 8 am mass every Monday. On the first Monday of each month we pray the Patriotic Rosary. We pray for every state and office and for the conversion of our country. The rosary is prayed all other Mondays after Mass for world peace. En especial, la visión de Isaías de una tierra sedienta que florece en abundancia contiene un mensaje para cada uno de nosotros. La mayoría de las veces somos como esa tierra sedienta. Dejamos que las olas del consumismo, que se apoderan de tantos, nos absorban. Buscamos realizarnos en las cosas que el dinero puede comprar. Lamentablemente, esto nos deja como una tierra baldía, sedienta de algo que el dinero no puede comprar. Este tiempo sagrado tiene mucho que ofrecer para saciar nuestra sed. En una palabra, este tiempo ofrece esperanza. Se nos dice que los rescatados por Dios conocerán el gozo y la dicha. Para ellos, la pena y la aflicción habrán terminado.
