November 28th 2022 Dear Year 6 parents and carers, I hope you’re all well. We’ve had a busy term with our Open Evening and our visits to all of our Cluster primary schools. I have to say, it’s been an absolute pleasure meeting your sons and daughters and talking to them about Brynteg School. They were all so polite and asked some brilliant questions – they really are a credit to you, and we can’t wait for them to start with us at Brynteg. So, what’s next? In the spring term, we will be visiting all of our Cluster primary schools once again for our ‘Quiz the Pupils’ sessions. During these sessions we will be bringing some of our current Year 7 pupils along to talk about their time at Brynteg so far and their transition. Our current pupils will also be dressed in our school uniform (and some will be in PE kit) so that Year 6 pupils can see exactly what they will have to wear when they start with us at Brynteg next year. In the summer term, many of our teachers at Brynteg School will be visiting the primary schools to carry out lessons and mini-projects with Year 6. This will give pupils the opportunity to meet more of our staff and complete work which will help prepare them for secondary school. Additionally, on Wednesday, June 28th, Year 6 pupils will have the opportunity to come to Brynteg for the day, where they will have a tour of the school, experience some exciting lessons, visit the canteen, and meet lots of our wonderful staff and pupils. More details will be sent out regarding this nearer the time. Furthermore, on the evening of the 28th June, we will be hosting a welcome meeting for Year 6 parents and carers at Brynteg School from 5pm. We look forward to meeting you all again in person then. In the meantime, please visit our Transition website, which contains lots of important information about Brynteg School. You can access the website using the following link: Transition Website Online applications for secondary school are now open for Year 6 pupils and the deadline to complete the application is Friday, 20th January.
