The new trends in education indicate full utilization of human resources in a disciplined way, thus shaping a holistic human being, who continues to grow in knowledge, curiosity, courage, confidence and understanding. The need of the hour is that all of us -teachers, parents, and students- learn to reassess, reorient, and re-energize to keep pace with the emergent times. I call upon the teachers, as stake holders of education, to illuminate the mind and soul of our students. Our teachers are professionally equipped to develop adapt and modify curriculum content, pedagogy & assessment which suit the needs and aspirations of our students. We work towards a holistic, experiential, integrated, student-centered educational system that helps to improve the creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills of our young learners. We educate our children to change the world through peace, empathy, and fraternity and place great emphasis on inner values. KV 31 CHANDIGARH 5 From the Desk of Headmistress We at KV 31 Chandigarh ensure high quality education which motivates and inspires our students to be life long learners and productive members of the society. We believe education is not just the amount of information that is put into a child's brain instead we create learners who are inquisitive, self motivated and enthusiastic. Our task is to provide a platform through various academic activities like experiments, projects, debates ,discussions and, co curricular activities, morning assembly,important days celebrations, games, sports, art and craft so that children explore their interests and utilize their innate hidden potential and talents.Success for all the students is ensured at our school by the delivery of an enriching child centered balanced and joyful learning activities. National education policy 2020 has stipulated that attaining Foundational literacy and numeracy for all children must become an immediate National Mission Department of school education and literacy has launched a national mission called National initiative for proficiency in reading with understanding and numeracy NIPUN Bharat for ensuring that every child in the country necessarily attains Foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of grade 3 by 2026-27. To achieve the Nipun goals our teachers help students to test their ideas, draw conclusions & inferences in a collaborative learning environment which transforms the students to become active participants in the learning process.We focus on contextual learning based on a constructivist theory of teaching & learning to provide techniques such as problem-solving, learning by doing & inquiry-based learning activities. This newsletter is an attempt to showcase the activities undertakenin primary section. I congratulate all the parents, teachers and students for joining hands in conducting these activities successfully. Our children have been actively participating in the Co-curricular activities to keep themselves self-motivated and energized. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 31-D, Chandigarh was established in 1974 under the patronage of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The school aims to impart education to its young minds in such a manner that they aquire a modern outlook and at the same time have their roots firmly embedded in the Indian heritage.It trains the students in such a way that they are not just equipped to earn a living but also have acumen for shouldering national and global responsibilities.

It marks Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's birthday who was born on 14 April 1891. World Health Day April 7 of each year marks the celebration of World Health Day. From its inception at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and since taking effect in 1950, the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization. KV 31 CHANDIGARH 10 ORIENTATION OF CLASS-1 Laying the foundation of school life and to create awareness among the parents of the newly admitted students of class 1 by making them aware about the VIDYA PRAVESH, FLN activities and targets of NIPUN BHARAT MISSION started by government of India along with the other rules and regulations of KVS. An orientation programme at our Vidyalaya was organised on 18th June 2022. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY India is the Pioneer in field of yoga. This day is a health gift by India to the world. International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21 June every year, likewise this year also we celebrated International yoga day with full zeal and enthusiasm.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 11 WELCOME OF CLASS-1 I have always loved the first day of school better than the last day of school. “Firsts are best because they are beginnings.”

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 12 Earth Day Students of our school participated in great numbers in various activities such as poster making,slogan writing and tree plantation on 22nd April 2022. PTM REMEDIAL INTERVENTIONS From time to time special PTM’s have been conducted for students attending remedial intervention. First PTM was conducted on 2/7/2022. Second PTM was conducted on 30/7/2022. And Third PTM was conducted on 27/8/2022.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 13 VIDYAPRAVESH ACTIVITIES School is not the end but only the beginning of an education. Change is the end result of all true learning.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 14 INVESTITURE CEREMONY A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. An investiture ceremony was organized on 20th August 2022 to form the student Council of primary section and the young leaders of student Council were selected and nominated from the four houses respectively.Leadership is the challenge to be somehow more than average.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 15 FUNDAY GLIMPSES The objective of funday is to remove the burden of studies to improve the skills and overall development of children. Different clubs are made like literacy, communication to develop their language skills.Mental Math,Eco club and GK Quiz club to develop their mental skill.All cultural activities like dance club,music club ,drama club to bring out the hidden talent of children. Experiment,model making to develop their knowledge by learning by doing. Yoga and games for their physical growth and fitness ,Art and craft, class beautification and cleanliness to develop their life skills like beautification of class,cleanliness of surroundings etc.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 16 HEALTH CHECK-UP Healthy mind dwells in a healthy body and health of the students is much more important than the others. To keep check on the growth and development of the students, health check ups for all the students of all Vidyalaya is organised. Parents were made aware about the health issues of their wards for betterment during the PTM.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 17 VISIT TO MOVIE SHOW Keep calm to movie time . Kids watch movies,feel happy and smile from their heart. Bad effects of Sugars on Oral and General Health An awareness campaign on oral health and hygiene was conducted at KV 31 Chandigarh on 28 April 2022. Students and teachers were made aware about the importance of oral health, a speech on Oral health and hygiene was delivered by Ms. Barunmala on this occasion. Very informative posters were made by students to explore oral health awareness. Held on 28 April 2022 at Vidyalaya level.Students were guided about the bad effects of sugar intake like high blood pressure,weight gain,diabetes,fatty lever diseases ,heart diseases and poor oral health.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 19 Kargil Vijay Diwas Kargil Vijay Diwas, is commemorated every 26 July in India, to observe India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War, ousted the Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999. Kendriya Vidyalaya children poured the respect on drawing paper to honour our unsung heroes. Cubs andBulbul activities Regular cub and bulbul acivities were held on fundays. Sudents were guided about cub bulbul greetings and BP exercises ,various knots , pledge and prayer. Total 115 students have been registered this year for cub and bulbul.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 20 Independence Day India is celebrating 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' on 15TH August 2022, a day that marks the 75th Independence Day 2022 for the country from nearly two centuries of British colonial rule. KV 31 CHANDIGARH 21 Prize Distribution The starting point of all achievement is desire. If one has the desire to succeed, one surely will. It was the time to applaud and reward the students for their sincere efforts. Students were appreciated for efforts and their overall performances and wished to come through with flying colours in future too. Prize distribution was organized on 20th August 2022.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 22 Sports Day The National Sports Meet is celebrated every year on 29th August to mark the tradition of India Mission was launched on the National Sports Day in 2019 by Hon’ble Prime Minister organized on 29.8.2022. Following sports were conducted for different classes: For class I – Lemon Spoon Race For class II – Balloon Race For class III – Langri Tang For class IV – Hurdle Race For class V – Kho-Kho

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 24 HOUSE DISPLAY BOARDS To showcase children's creativity a house board display competition was organised in our vidyalaya under various themes like Save environment, science and technology, health and well being etc.There are four houses :STAR(Shivaji,Tagore,Ashoka,Raman).House Display Board Decoration was conducted on 22nd April 2022.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 25 Group Song Group Song was organised on 29th April 2022 under CCA. Theme of Group song competition was Patriotic/Motivational Song. It was conducted house wise competition : Shivaji House-Punjabi Tagore House-Himachal Ashoka House-Haryanvi Raman House-Gujarati

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 26 Puppet Making Puppet Making competition was conducted on 8th July 2022 under CCA .Stick puppet, finger puppet etc was made by class 1 & 2 students using coloured paper. Puppets made from socks, fabric etc was made by class 3 & 5 students using cloth.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 27 SOLO DANCE Dance celebrates the cultural roots of a particular group of people. A house wise SOLO dance competition was organized on All folk dances were very colorful, brisk, enthusiastic and full of energy. Solo Song Competiton was organized on 6th May 2022.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 28 NEWSPAPER READING COMPETITION When you give newspaper into the hands of a child you are an awaker.Newspaper Reading competition was organised on 15 July 2022 for class 3 to 5.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 29 Swachhta Pakhwada Swachhata Pakhwada started in April 2016 with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata .It was celebratred in our vidyalaya from 1st to 15 th September.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 30 Fancy Dress Competition Get up, Dress up, Show up and never give up. Fancy dress competiton was organised on 5th August 2022.

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 31 हहंदी पखवाडा मााँ भारती के भाल का श्रंगार है हहंदी, चमक रही चहाँ ददशाओं में बन माथे की हबंदी । अपनेपन का एहसास है हहंदी, सबको जोडें ऐसी भाषा है हहंदी , संस्कर त की बेटी भारत की पहचान है हहंदी । कें द्रीय नवद्यालय सेक्टर 31 के प्ांगण में 14 नसतंबर 2022 हहंदी पखवाडे का शुभारंभ हआ। हहंदी पखवाडे के अंतगगत नवनभन्न प्नतयोनगताओं का आयोजन दकया गया ।श्ुतलेख, सुलेख,संवाद -वाचन, हास्य_ कनवता प्नतयोनगता, आशुभाषण प्नतयोनगता, एकल गायन प्नतयोनगता में बच्चों ने बढ़ चढ़कर भाग नलया और अपनी मातरभाषा व राजभाषा हहंदी के प्नत अपने लगाव और रुनच का पररचय ददया। हहंदी पखवाडे के दौरान प्ाथगना सभा में अनिक से अनिक गनतनवनियााँ हहंदी में करवाई गई ।दोहा गायन ,देश भनि गीत, भजन गायन जैसी गनतनवनियों का प्ाथगना सभा में आयोजन दकया गया। बच्चों को हहंदी भाषा के प्नत सम्मान ,लगाव और रुनच रखने के नलए प्ेररत दकया गया। प्नतयोनगताओं में प्थम, नितीय व तरतीय स्थान प्ाप्त करने वाले बच्चों को पुरस्कार देकर प्ोत्सानहत दकया गया ।

KV 31 CHANDIGARH 32 Our Achievements ‘The twinkling stars shinning brighter’. It gives immense pleasure in announcingthat SUKRIT SHARMA of class 5 section D is awarded the certificate and medaI for his distinctive performance atChandigarh. SAANVI of class 5 section A won Gold Medal in Taekwondo Championship.
