New Church Doors The new Church doors have arrived and the Company will begin the install on Monday, January 5th. When the doors are in place, the molding will be added and the doors stained.

AVANCE has begun to renovate the brick house as a Head Start Center for babies and toddlers up to three years. The wood house will be renovated for offices, meetings, and storage space for AVANCE staff. Both buildings will be brought up to ADA standards. An age appropriate playground will be built behind 1209 James Street. The child care space will be renovated and the playground built to meet Texas Day Care Licensing and Office of Head Start standards. PARENTS: AVANCE has 6 openings which are now available to members of our community who might wish to avail of the baby or toddler programs. If you are interested, please let me know immediately. AND… a gr ateful thanks to the wonder ful volunteers who have staffed the Thrift Store and Food Pantry for many years. They are all excited about this new venture that AVANCE offers to our neighborhood. And they are willing to take on new ventures to advance God’s work at Holy Name.

AVANCE HOUSTON has signed the lease with the archdiocese and has officially taken over the use of the property. The lease is for five years on the brick house (Thrift Store) and the wood house (Food Pantry) on James Street, plus access to the parking lot and permission to use the school auditorium four times per year for large meetings. They have given the first two months deposit plus half rent for December and full month for January for a total of $16,800.00. The checks were made out to the Archdiocese and were then deposited in Holy Name Savings Account.
