LEGACY OF CHAMPIONS: The Legacy of Champions Youth Ministry is a new outreach program of the Frenchspeaking community at Holy Name. It’s mission is to change the future of our youth by building believers and leaders through God’s word. Encyclical on the Environment In his June encyclical on creation care, Laudato Si’, Pope Francis proclaims that the poor are those most harmed by environmental destruction and climate change, and that developed countries like ours owe the poor an “environmental debt”. With Pope Francis we pray, “O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, that we may protect the world and not prey on it.” In the encyclical, we are urged to do what we can to support global agreements on sustainable development, on protecting ecosystems globally, and on limiting greenhouse gases to a greater extent in developed countries than in poor countries, and to not support the "ploy" of trading carbon credits since it does not reduce total global emissions. Rather, we are encouraged to reduce our consumption.

Que los países desarrollados como el nuestro tienen una “una deuda ambiental” con los pobres. Rezamos con el papa Francisco: "¡Oh Dios de los pobres, ayudanos a rescatar a los abandonados y olvidados de esta tierra y haznos capaces de proteger al mundo y no destruirlo”. Nous sommes plutôt encouragés à réduire notre consommation. LEGACY OF CHAMPIONS : Ce ministère des Adolescents est un nouveau programme pour venir en aide à la communauté francophone de Holy Name. Sa mission est de changer l’avenir de nos Jeunes en formant des croyants et des leaders en utilisant la Parole de Dieu. Les programmes incluent des ateliers ou on leur enseigne comment s’exprimer, l’étude de la Bible, comment faire des Appels de Fonds, l’organisation de sorties en groupes, et les opportunités du Bénévolat.
