Get involved in your parish We give special thanks to the members of our parish who serve as altar servers, extraordinary ministers, lectors, and ushers, plus the teachers and aides who work with parish religious education and the people who participate in the Bible Study classes. We also hope to renew our R.C.I.A. program this fall. These are some of the many ways to serve in the parish. In addition to those just listed, there is the Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus, Parish Council, and the choir. We need more people to be involved in these ministries. Parish Council Election An election of members to serve on the Parish Council will be held soon. This is yet another way in which you can serve in our parish. The Council meets once a month, hears reports from the various groups that work in the parish, and makes recommendations to the pastor. If you are interested or willing to serve on the Parish Council, please call the church office as soon as possible.

Adult Education We invite you to join us as we participate in a parish-wide program Doors of Mercy. This is not a Bible study. There is no written homework. It is eight simple sessions that will allow you to experience God’s hope, healing and loving mercy in this once-in-a-lifetime program. Following Doors of Mercy we will offer a Bible study: Luke - The Gospel of Mercy. We will also be offering a Bible study on the Book of Revelation. These programs will begin in mid-September. Men of Faith: St. Michael Parish is exploring interest in beginning a scripture-based reflection and discussion group for the men of the parish. These will be Thursday mornings from 6:15 a.m. til 7 a.m. in the Ewing Room in the Life Center. The sessions will begin with a brief presentation of the topic for the week, introduced by the scripture readings. This will be followed by small group discussion of the topic and readings as they relate to deepening and practicing our faith in the world today.
