This September, the School Sisters of Notre Dame Educational Center will offer classes to prepare students to take the high school equivalency diploma test (formerly called GED). Meditación: Lucas 12, 32-48

No temas, rebañito mío, porque tu Padre ha tenido a bien darte el Reino. (Lucas 12, 32) Los cristianos anhelamos llegar junto a Cristo, porque somos peregrinos en busca de la patria del cielo. Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, seguimos sintiendo que el mundo nos arrastra con fuerza. Con mucha facilidad nos encontramos envueltos en el ajetreo y las rutinas de la vida cotidiana, ya sea en el trabajo, en los quehaceres de la casa, en los estudios o tratando de cumplir nuestros deberes y responsabilidades. Esto no sólo nos hace concentrarnos en nosotros mismos y en nuestras obligaciones, sino que nos hace perder de vista aquello que Dios quiere para nuestra vida. Pronto olvidamos que tenemos un fuego encendido en el interior que sólo puede reposar cuando encontramos al Dios vivo. Si queremos estar preparados para encontrarnos con Cristo cuando venga, hemos de aceptar sumisamente la obra que Dios ha comenzado en nosotros: “Dios, que comenzó a hacer su buena obra en ustedes, la irá llevando a buen fin hasta el día en que Jesucristo regrese” (Filipenses 1, 6). ¿Cómo será esto? Primero, si apenas tenemos un débil deseo de que llegue Jesús, debemos pedir que el Espíritu Santo vitalice nuestro espíritu. Sólo el Espíritu de Dios puede encender el amor en nuestro espíritu: no podemos hacerlo por esfuerzo propio. Segundo, hemos de disciplinarnos para esperar al Señor en la oración y durante las pruebas y dificultades. Él es nuestra ayuda y protección; nuestro corazón se alegra porque confiamos en él. Por fe esperamos en el Señor, proclamando sus promesas y confiando en ellas del mismo modo que lo hicieron los grandes héroes de la fe. La Palabra de Dios nos revela las promesas que el Señor nos ha hecho, por eso podemos responder con fe. Si mantenemos la mirada fija en Cristo estaremos preparados, con una fe viva, para encontrarnos con él en su gloria. “Señor, somos las ovejas de tu rebaño y queremos seguirte a donde quieras llevarnos, porque sabemos que podemos confiar en ti.
