My Dear Parishioners,

Summer Message

August 7, 2016

As we begin the Summer Season, I would like once again this year as I have done in the past, to bring to your attention the dress code for coming to Church. Yes, my dear friends, when we come to Church, we come to a wedding banquet, as we have been invited by the King of kings, not to a picnic or to the beach. Therefore, we have to dress accordingly, whether men or women. The women should not be wearing mini-skirts, mini dresses, shorts or tight pants. Everything should be covered from the neck down to below the knees. The back or the chest should not be showing, and definitely the belly should not be showing. Also, the men should not be wearing tank top, white tees, shorts or baggy pants falling down their buttocks with their underwear showing, especially the youths. We should dress the way we would dress to go to a wedding banquet, and even better. The Lord himself, in the Wedding Banquet Parable, tells us my dear friends, how upset the king became at a guest who was not dressed properly, and as a result the king threw him out: “When the king came in to meet the guests, however, he caught sight of a man not properly dressed for a wedding feast. ‘My friend, he said, ‘how is it you came in here not properly dressed?’ The man had nothing to say. The king then said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and throw him out into the night to wail and grind his teeth.’ The invited are many, the elect are few.”(Matt 22:11-14). Of course I would not throw anybody out of the Church, my dear friends, but what I would do, I will present a red tag to whomever I think is not properly dressed for Church, whether male or female. When I present a red tag to someone who has come to Church, that person would know that he or she is not dressed properly to come to Church, and definitively to come to communion, so that next time he or she would dress properly, if not, I would present a red tag again the following week. My dear friends, I hope that I would not have to present anyone with a red tag. It is unfortunate that as your Pastor I have to do this, but it is my duty, my obligation to help my people give to God what belongs to God. My dear people, I would like to refer everyone, to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, to the chapter on the Ninth (9th) Commandment. The Catechism, talking about the Ninth Commandment, cites the sixth beatitude: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Yes, my dear friends, in order to go to heaven, we have to achieve that purity of heart, and that purity of heart requires modesty, especially modesty in our clothing, as the Catechism tells us: “Purity requires modesty, an integral part of temperance. Modesty protects the intimate center of the person. It means refusing to unveil what should remain hidden…Modesty is decency. It inspires one’s choice of clothing.”(CCC ¶ 2521, 2522). My dear friends, as we go through the Summer Season, may we be careful not to offend Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by the way we come dressed to Church! Already here on earth, we are invited to the Banquet of Heaven. Yes, my dear friend, the Mass is the wedding Banquet of Heaven. May we take time to come spend time with Him present Body, Blood, Soul, Humanity and Divinity, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, whom we have the privilege to have exposed 24 hours/ 7 days a week, on our altar, in the Chapel downstairs! Please come to spend time with Him! He is waiting for you to reveal the love he has for you in his Heart! Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us! Love, Reverend Monsignor Beaubrun Ardouin (Msgr. Beau)

Message pour l’été 2016

Mensaje para la temporada de verano de 2016

Mes chers paroissiens,

PRAYER OF POPE FRANCIS FOR THE JUBILEE

Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “If you knew the gift of God!”

You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.

Amen.

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
