Jesuit Volunteer Over fifty years ago, the Jesuits in the Oregon Province began a program: the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. It has spread to the whole United States and involves young people volunteering for a year of service with people in need. They live in small communities and also dedicate themselves to living simply and focusing on growing spiritually. This year one of our parishioners will take part in this wonderful endeavor, working with Hispanic senior citizens in San Francisco. His name is Justo Caballero. He graduated in June from Stanford University and will be heading off to his placement in the next few days. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for us as a parish to sponsor him and to follow him in his year of service. To sponsor him, we need to raise $600. If you would like to help, there are envelopes around the church. Anything over the $600, we will donate to the Jesuit Volunteer Corps to help run this beautiful program. We are honored to have a young man in this program!

Voluntarios Jesuitas Hace más de cincuenta años, los jesuitas de la Provincia de Oregón comenzaron un programa: el Cuerpo de Voluntarios Jesuitas. Se ha propagado a todos los Estados Unidos e involucra a jóvenes voluntarios por un año de servicio a las personas necesitadas. Viven en pequeñas comunidades y también se dedican a vivir sencillamente y se enfocan en crecer espiritualmente. Este año uno de nuestros feligreses participará en este maravilloso esfuerzo, al trabajar con hispanos de la 3a edad en San Francisco. Su nombre es Justo Caballero. Se graduó en junio en la Universidad de Stanford y en unos días se irá a su puesto. Creo que esta es una oportunidad maravillosa para nosotros como parroquia de patrocinarlo y seguirlo en su año de servicio. Para patrocinarlo, necesitamos recaudar $600. Si usted desea ayudar, hay sobres alrededor de la iglesia. Cualquier cantidad más de los $600, que donará al Cuerpo de Voluntarios Jesuitas para ayudar a ejecutar este hermoso programa. ¡Nos sentimos honrados de tener a un joven en este programa!

Welcome Table There are new ministries developing in our parish and we want to invite you to participate in them. The Welcome Table is one of them. It allows you the opportunity to spend a couple of hours once or twice a month welcoming people to our parish, giving out information and signing people up to the various events that we have here. In the year that we have had the table, it has proven to be a very good focus of information for our work here. Mesa de Bienvenida Siguen desarrollándose nuevos ministerios en nuestra parroquia y queremos invitarles a participar en ellos. La Mesa de Bienvenida es uno de ellos. Se le da la oportunidad de pasar un par de horas una o dos veces al mes dando la bienvenida, información y apuntando a feligreses en los diferentes eventos que tenemos aquí. En el año que hemos tenido la mesa, ha demostrado ser un muy buen centro de información para nuestro trabajo aquí. New Registrations We encourage everyone who attends our parish on a regular basis to register here. In the past, to register meant filling out a form and leaving it in the office. But we have realized that that is a pretty cold and impersonal thing to do. So we are inviting people who want to register at the parish to meet with me, the Pastor, on a Saturday morning so that we can get to know one another. In that way, we are registering friends into our friendly community.

Pero nos hemos dado cuenta de que es una manera fría e impersonal de hacerlo. CAMINANDO CON SAN IGNACIO DE LOYOLA ANSPAC—Te Nuevamente se ofrece esta serie de 15 sesiones para aquellos interesados en la Espiritualidad Ignaciana. Es una preparación para aquellos que desean hacer los Ejercicios Espirituales o ya los hicieron y buscan un grupo de oración. Cultura de la Vida—Acompáñennos a rezar el Rosario por la Vida cada jueves a las 5:00PM en la iglesia. Cada 1er y 3er jueves tenemos reunión para educarnos sobre el tema.

"La Divina Providencia nos invita a ejercer nuestra fe, esperanza y caridad."
