Sunday Reflection Brothers and sisters in Christ, Greeting and blessings to you this day. As we enter this month of October, we enter into the month of the rosary as we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7th. This day is 1571 marks the victory of the battle of Lepanto which was a major naval victory between the Christian Tuks and the Ottoman West. The victory was attributed to Our Blessed Mother as she interceded for the west as the soldiers prayed the rosary. Our Blessed Mother continues to watch over her faithful children.

Our Lady of Peace... pray for us.

In Christ, Rev. Michael Perucho

En Cristo, Rev. Michael Perucho

During this month, I encourage all of us to pick up a rosary and to pray. Growing up, I remember gathering as a family to pray the rosary especially during novenas when family would pass away. It was these prayers that have been a great foundation for my life of prayer, not just in memorizing the common prayers, but uniting my life to Christ. It is important that we meditate on the mysteries of the rosary as these 20 mysteries allow us to unite ourselves to the life of Christ. When we unite ourselves with Christ, he gives us the grace we need to get through our challenges and difficulties in life and celebrates with us in our joy. In a special way, as we pray the rosary this month, I invite us to pray in particular for life issues- the end to abortion, the end to the death penalty and the end to euthanasia.
